Uutta poikaa hakemassa Tanskasta 7.-8.11.2009 / Getting a new addition in the pack from Denmark 7.-8. November
Minulla oli mahdollisuus saada Tanskasta yhteisomistukseen pieni aprikoosi kääpiöuros, Lykkehuset's Mars Attacks. Lyhyen pohdinnan jälkeen päädyin siihen, että haluan tämän pojan. Matka Tanskaan on ikimuistoinen. Jos jokin asia voi mennä pieleen, se tuntui menevän, tosin paljon mukavaa matkaan mahtui myös. Paras tietysti oli pojan saaminen Suomeen. Mars / Hans / ? on puoliksi minun ja puoliksi Sanna Koposen (kennel Trucker's). Poika tuntuu sopeutuvan hyvin, ja matkustaminen oli helppoa. Aika kertoo, mitä tästä pikkumiehestä tulee.
I had a possibility of having a apricot dwarf poodle boy from Denmark. I co-own this boy with Sanna Koponen, kennel Trucker's. The trip was unforgettable, and I'm glad I don't (much) believe in omens. However, the boy, Lykkehutset's Mars Attacks is a wonderfull boy who has already fitted in with the rest of the boys. Kerttu shows a bit resistance, but these two have already played and run together like mad dogs. At first I wanted him to be Maddoc (mad doc) or Maddog, but I don't know. He already has a fistfull of nicknames, so time will tell.
Porvoon KR näyttely 13.9.2009 / Porvoo National Dog Show 13. September 2009
Ensimmäisen kerran kahteen vuoteen Nemon kanssa kehässä. Muutamasta harjoituskerrasta oli varmaankin jonkin verran hyötyä, mutta tuntui että yhteistyö ei ollut lainkaan niin hanskassa kuin pari vuotta sitten, kun kehässä käytiin tiheämmin. Tulokseksi Nemo sai ERI:n ja Whiteway's kasvattajaryhmä sai KP:n ollen 2/2 kasvattaja luokassaan. Muissa koko- ja värivariaatioissa ei kasvattajaryhmää ollutkaan, vain keskikokoisissa musta Soltar's -ryhmä ja valkoinen Whiteway's -ryhmä.
Alkuviikon sade-enteistä huolimatta ilma oli kuuma ja aurinkoinen. Mukava päivä, mutta oli mukava tulla kotiinkin.
First time in two years I was in a ring with Nemo. Even though we did some practicing before, our co-operation was not what it was two years ago. Nemo's contact with me needs to be improved, but his standing is far more effortless (and I let him stand freely quite a lot), so some golden lines in that cloud. Nemo got exc. and kennel Whiteway's was second in it's breeder's class with honour prize, first was kennel Soltar's.

Täysi-ikäinen tyttö, huh huh. Niin se aika kuluu. Kuva Kertusta tulee myöhemmin, valitettavast Kertulla on karvankasvatus kesken.
Now Kerttu is a grown up, even though she doesn't act like one. Times goes by too fast. I will post a picture of Kerttu later, but unfortunately she is in a middle of growing her coat to Scandinavian clip.

Tervehdykset lomalta / Greetings from the holidays
Valitettavasti muutaman lähinäyttelyn ilmot ovat menneet umpeen. Olisi ollut mielenkiintoista viedä Kerttu ja Purri kontinentaaleissaan tuomarille. Kenties arvio olisi ollut murskaava, mutta sitähän ei voi tietää. Toisaalta Kertun palluroihin on liian vähän karvaa, ja ne ovat liian pienet muutenkin.
Unfortunately I missed the entries of couple of interesting dog shows which are held nereby. I'd like to know what the judges will say about Purri's and Kerttu's continentals - maybe nothing positive, but still, I won't know without trying. On the other hand, Kerttu had far too short a coat for decent "balls" on her loin, even though they have grown a little. And the balls should be larger and not so far back situated, anyway.

YLE Teemalta tuli ohjelmaa koiran kehityshistoriasta. Kerttu katseli ohjelmaa hyvin tarkkaan ja painokkain haukunnoin. Susia Kerttu ei jostain syystä haukkunut, joskin television kuvapinta oli tuolloin vaarassa rikkoutua Kertun raapiessa kuvaruutua.
There was a program about dogs development on tv. Kerttu watched the programme very carefully, and seemed either to disagree or to agree on many things during the program. She barked the dogs, and especially the sheep that were shown with border collies. For some reason, she seemed to tolerate the wolves rather well.
Kesäkuun loppu / The end of June
At the beginning of having poodles, I disliked the continental clip, and preferred even home clip to continental. Now, after being subjected the continental clip in most of the shows, I've learned to like it. So, my little Kerttu got this cut too. Her coat will grow soon enough to make the clip look a bit better.
The problem is, Purri is a very muscular dog, and Kerttu is not, so now I have to build up her muscles, 'cause I can see she hasn't much got them. If I don't see it, I don't have to care about it, I assume 
I also moved permanently (weeell, never say never...) back to Turku, where I have lived before. I just had a sidekick some 200 km from here because of my work. During the weekends I did come to Turku, but it was hard, having all the things usually at the wrong place.
Trucker's Treffit 2009 / Breeder Trucker's Get Together 2009
It's a tradition that each Summer we get together for two days with our breeder, Kennel Trucker's . There are games, sometimes lectures, show training etc. In the evening we go to sauna and swimming, and afterwards we sit by the fire and talk through the night. Unfortunately Sanna Koponen, the breeder, has told us that this is the last year she will organize such an event, because she will retire from breeding next year.

Juhannus 2009 / Mid Summer 2009
Purri sai uuden frisöörin, koska Purrilla on kiusallinen tapa hypätä "pelastamaan" ihmisiä vedestä. Purri itse ei välitä turkin hoidosta, joten päätin helpottaa omaa urakkaani ja otin trimmerin käteeni. Vapaalla kädellä tuli vähän paljastettua pintaa. Aiemmin olin leikannut turkkia lyhyemmäksi lähinnä vatsan alta, mutta se ei tuntunut helpottavan riittävästi.
Purri got a new cut, because he has this rather annoying habit of jumping in the water to save people from "drowning". At our summer cottage we tend to go to sauna nearly each day, so we also swim daily. Even on winter weekends we have a hole in the ice, and Purri has even "rescued" us from there, freezing himself. Since Purri hasn't quite yet learned to disentangle himself, I cut his coat a bit easier to deal with.
